What is  psychology ?

    Psychology 

Psychology is a branch of philosophy  .there was a time when there was no such subject as psychology. In that time the mental philosophy was covering the study of the mind as a special  branch of philosophy. In this way psychology is a legitimate child of philosophy. The breakaway of psychology from philosophy of scientific procedure. This transfer of psychology from philosophy from philosophy to science took a long course building some times this way and other responsible for the changing in meaning and definitions of psychology from time to time as can be observed through the blow mentioned definition. DEFINITION OF PSYCHOLOGY 

1 psychology is the science of the soul :Etymologically they term psychology has its origin from two Greek words psyche(soul) and logos. (a study). Thus literally is means study of soul or science of soul. 

Psychology is the science of the  mind: failure to define soul properly  let some ancient Greek philosopher to define psychology as '' science of the mind " but this definition was rejected on some ground as the term' mind' was as mysterious and vague as soul. 

3 psychology is a science of consciousness. :the psychologist like James William and William wundet defined psychology as the science of consciousness. According to these psychologist the discrimination and explanations of state of consciousness is the task of psychology which is usually done by instrument. 

  This definition has also been rejected on the ground that it is has a very narrow vision as it does not include the sub conscious and unconscious activities. of the mind due to the most subjective nature of the method of introspection which is task in to the action.

 In psychology there no any universal definition of psychology. Some acceptable definition mention below 

" psychology is  the science activities of the individual in relation to his relationship environment  "  

What is Education psychology ? 

Psychologist call psychology is a science and scientific investigation of behaviour . Psychology has other natural sciences has two aspects _ pure and applied. In its aspect of pure psychology is formulate broad principles, beings out theories and suggest technique for the study of human behaviour which find the practical shape in it applied aspect. Branches of applied psychology like occupational psychology, clinical psychology  ,crime psychology. Industrial psychology and educational psychology. 

  So educational psychology is nothing but one of the branches of applied psychology. It is an attempt to apply the knowledge of psychology to the field of education. It consists of the application of the psychological principles and the technique of the human behaviour in the educational situation .in other hand educational is a study of the experiences and behaviour of learner in relation to the education environment.  

    Psychologist has tried to definition educational psychology in there own way.. Some of those definition are given below 

 1skiner defines it as : educational psychology is that branch of psychology which deals with teaching - learning 

2 crow crow put it as : educational psychology describe and explains the learning experience of an individual from birth through old age. 

According to these definition educational psychology is a psychology of teaching and learning  .teaching and learning is a main processes of education and the learner are the key figure in this process. Therefore , it is proper to define educational psychology as a study of  behaviour and experience of the learner in response educational

. According to  me best definition give by peel " educational psychology is the science of education 

 Education and educational psychology  education by the all means is an attempt to mould and shape behaviour of the pupil  it is to produce desirable change in build for all round development of the personality 

    Educational psychology help the teacher To understand the development of his pupils.,the range, and the limits of their capacity, the process by which they learn, and there social relation .

 In this way we can commper  educational psychologist with a engineer who is the technical expert. Educational psychologist who is the technical expert of educational field. Who work with the understanding of the behaviour of the pupil in the response educational environment.and desired modification of his behaviour to being an all round development of his personality.
