Evaluation, Formative and summetive Evalution

Formative  evaluation

     When the students are said to be in well regarding  knowledge.,the process of teaching applied to learn anything and judgement is called formative  .a teacher judging students knowledge, teaching attitude, how much he captured  is called formative evaluation.
    The formative evaluation is called continues evaluation. There are include class test  ,assignment, oral test, written test, etc
    By the formative evaluation we fined out weakness of pupils  . The pupils weakness diagnosed through the class room with teacher guide.
  Hence formative evaluation is continuous feedback to both teachers and students.
NEED AND IMPORTANCE OF FORMATIVE EVALUATION
       The process of formative is highly needed as
# It provides information to teacher for modifying instruction and teaching.
# it is help to prescribe group and individual remedial programmes.
#  it is helpful monitoring pupils learning progress.
# it provides feedback to both teachers and students
#  it facilities retention and transfer of learning.
#  it provides immediate feedback to the children
SUMMAT IVE EVALUATION
   SUMMATIVE EVALUATION IS TERM END EVALUATION. when the formative evaluation take it is last step. That is call SUMMATIVE evaluation  .
Summative evaluation may be seen three different way
1 by assessing the progress of students with reference to their own selves
 2 by assessing the progress of students with reference to criteria set by their teacher.
3 by assessing the progress of students with reference to the progress made by their peer group.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FORMATIVE EVALUATION AND SUMMATIVE EVALUATION
 1 THE PURPOSE OF FORMATIVE EVALUATION IS TO DIAGNOSE THE STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS OF THE PUPILS.
The purpose of SUMMATIVE evaluation is classification and promotion of students.
2.EVIDENCES SECURED BY IT ARE USED FOR FURTHER IMPROVEMENT OF INSTRUCTION AND STUDENTS BETTER PROGRESS.
It's results are used for certification and passing judgement on pupils achievement.
3 IT IS FOCUS IS ON IMPROVEMENT OF PUPILS ACHIEVEMENT.
It is focus is on measurement of pupils achievement.
4 IT REFERS TO CONTINUOUS EVALUATION BY MEANS OF UNIT TEST, ASSIGNMENTS ETC.
It's refers to terms test, annual test and external examinations.
5 ITS  AN INTEGRAL PART OF TEACHING -LEARNING  PROCESS.
It is treated as an end of the course activity.
