DURGA PUJA|, Hindu Festiva,|Basanti PUJA

The Durga puja
Of the all of the Hindu Festival , the Durga puja is the grandest and most important. Long before the festival , the young band old ,the rich and the
Poor, the buyer, and the seller, look forward to it in eager hopes to joy and excitement of the occasion.
                       SREE Durga is represented as divine mother coming  to distribute the blessing of power and help to all who pray them to almighty goddess . With weapons in  all her ten hands , she offers to saved her devotees from the forces of evil in the form of a demon in a buffalo's body. She has with her two sons on the both sides . Kartik the general and ganesh the visible embodiment of the wisdom and success.  She bring also her two daughters lakshmi , the goddess of fortune and wealth, and the sarwati,  the goddess of learning and find arts. 
             The Hindu worship goddess Durga in the memory of the vectorious forces of the good over those of evil from age to age. This worship is held twice in a year . In spring it is called Basanti PUJA while in autumn it is called Durga PUJA . The autumn festival is now celebrated with greatest pomp and splendour. It is the base of the Rama's worship of Durga for  overcoming the powerful demon ravana of Lanka in this particular season . The music of wardrums is a must in this grandest worship . 
             The worship of Durga lasts for four days . The first day ceremony is  called bodhan or invocation . The PUJA properly begin on the 7th day of the moon and lasts till the end of the 9th day whenly Ravana is said to have fallen. 
                During the period of these three days, verses from chandi are ricited . Offerings of fine rice ,fresh fruits and sweetmeats and other good things and choicest flowers are made over to the goddess. After the each poja , edible things are distributed as prasads among all present and the house of the locality . The arati or offering of lights is held every evening all those days. 
             On the vijoya dashami , the ten day of moon , the worshippers bid farewell to the goddess. The image are conveyed to some neighbouring River in the evening for immersion . The procession is a very interesting sight and the draws thousands of sightseers. after the immersion ceremony, there is exchange of embraces with one another among relations and neighbours. On this occasion they sink all their differences and exchange good wishes.
